C-Board Films retain a special interest in archival themes in documentary and video projects. Privately held cinefilm is a valuable visual legacy of our past, and we are available to assist anybody who wishes to have old family films transferred to the modern format of DVD. We use the Video Workprinter XP, a dedicated transfer system for Super-8 mm and the older Regular-8 mm gauges, imported from the Moviestuff company in the United States.

The Workprinter captures the film frame by frame to a computer hard drive. This eliminates 'pulsing', in other words the resulting video file that is generated has absolutely none of the light and dark flickering that is common with simple projector/video camera and similar type transfer methods. The image is sharp and vivid, and further illumination and colour correction can also be performed on the film, if necessary, before outputting to disc.

If you have old reels of home movies in storage somewhere, please give me a call and we can discuss converting the footage to DVD. We can then give a quote depending on the film's duration, whether any cleaning/repairs or digital colour correction etc is required.
